The school specialises in issues related to Human Rights’ protection and the promotion of a culture of peace in situations of conflict.
The course for the academic year 2017-2018 entitled "From Peacekeeping to Peacebuilding: from the protection of civilians to the memory of the conflict for construction of peace" – aims at meeting the needs faced in current conflict scenarios, building an ideal bridge between humanitarian workers and local partners, through a common experience between war and peace, memory and the future.
The course is expected to promote: knowledge about the characteristics of contemporary wars and conflicts, a comprehension of current International Relations with a view for promoting peace, the protection of Human Rights in the areas of conflict; particularly within a humanitarian protection framework and lastly conflict management and peace building in the post-conflict phase, for the recovery from trauma and reconciliation.
The teaching staff consists of academics, qualified National and International experts in conflict management and scholars in Human Rights’ protection.
The course caters to students who have already obtained a Bachelor’s degree, students enrolled in a Master's degree from all disciplines, representatives of educational institutions and non-governmental organizations and professionals. The lessons are delivered in Italian.
The lessons are scheduled from March to June 2018, twice a week. The deadline for applications is March 10th, 2018. Classes are held at “Scuola Arcaroli”, in Via Labicana 15/15A, Rome.
