The expression refers to those innocent civilians kidnapped and brutally killed by Colombian military forces who presented them as guerrilla soldiers killed in combat, in order to receive promotions and other benefits.
The intent of this paper is to shed light on a battle that has concerned every single Colombian family, but dealing with it from a different angle, where the true stories of families of civilian victims and survivors are closely intertwined with voices of crime and indifference.
